The Quality Guarantee system is defined as a basic strategic tool to achieve a continuous advance of the Faculty of Biology and its official degrees.
Accordingly, it is important to mention that the R.D. 822/2021 28th September, 2021, which established the arrangement of official university teaching, requires for the verification and certification of a degree the incorporation of an intern guarantee system for the evaluation, monitoring and advance of quality for the education offer.
With the aim of carrying out this requirement, the Faculty of Biology participated in the first call of the ACSUG to “design” a Quality Guarantee System (SGC) according to the FIDES/AUDIT programme in collaboration with the Quality Area of the University of Vigo, obtaining the certification of the design the 30th January, 2009.
The next step was to certify the adequate implementation of SGC. Accordingly, and with the proposal of the Quality Area of the University of Vigo, the Faculty of Biology participated in the experimental call of the ACSUG for this purpose. After the visit of an external auditor team, the faculty received the certification from the agency on 18th November, 2013, revealing that the SGC of the Faculty of Biology had been introduced following the guidelines established by the FIDES/AUDIT programme (Certification report).
Later, with date 7th May 2019, the ACSUG issued with favourable result the Report of re-certification of the implantation of the SGC in the Faculty of Biology with validity until 2024 (Re-certification report).
