I am a principal investigator of the National Program “Ramon y Cajal” at the University of Vigo. My research lines involve molecular evolution and population genetics applied to Biomedicine, with especial interest in viruses and humans. I obtained my PhD inBiology (Genetics) in 2010 and then I performed postdocs in a variety of research centres including the University of Bern, University of Wyoming, University of Porto and the Centre for Molecular Biology Severo Ochoa, among others.
